AFFIRMATIVE to Affirmative Action

Affirmative action is a policy that benefits minorities experiencing discrimination or those who have experienced extreme discrimination in the past.

Affirmative action is necessary. Hands down. Racial discrimination is a serious issue, often downplayed in our "open-minded" and "free" society. Racism can only truly be experienced by people of that race, themselves. Racism is not to be taken lightly and significantly alters the way people live. Affirmative action counteracts that alteration. Affirmative action is an attempt to make up for the serious issue of racism. Affirmative action grants opportunities that racism has and still continues to take away. Affirmative action benefits those who have been or are still being disadvantaged. Those who do not experience racial segregation are able to take into consideration the lasting effects of racism through the use of affirmative action; it is a steady and constant reminder of the seriousness and negativity that comes with discrimination of minorities. Affirmative action can simply be seen as justice.
